New Year’s Day 2010

Several years ago, my son and I started a tradition of going fishing on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. Generally the fishing has been less than stellar, but is all about spending time with my son.

The last couple of years, the weather has been outstanding. You know, sunny and warm. The kind of days that make the Chamber of Commerce smile. Well, this year, it was a little different story. James and I waited most of the day for the rain to break. We grabbed a chance at a short window to hit the water.

We managed about 30 minutes before the window slammed slut. The wind started blowing about 35 mph, rain and the temp started dropping. Needless to say, we left the fish completely undisturbed. We came home for a long night of Wii family sports. Nothing says family like an all night boxing match, lol.

Here are some pictures of the last couple of years.

As you can see, 2010 was not as pretty as previous years, but a day with my son is still a good time no matter the weather.
